Wind / Wind Hybrid System

A standard Wind System consists of a wind generator that charges a bank of deep-cycle batteries. A charge controller makes sure that the batteries do not overcharge. When power is needed in your home, electricity is drawn from the batteries and transformed with an inverter into standard 240 volt household power.
In a Wind Hybrid system an array of solar panels is added to boost charging of he batteries. This can be beneficial in areas where there is not enough wind by itself or wind blows in the evening or night times.
The system can independent of the utility grid. This means that the power that you can use is limited to the amount of electricity that the wind and solar panels can produce or is stored in the battery bank. This is a true fossil-fuel-free system that is in essence carbon negative - though a fuel powered generator can be added as back-up.
